D I S F A T T I S M O !
I venti di guerra soffiano sempre più impetuosi nel mondo, coinvolgendo direttamente anche l’Europa occidentale. Piani di riarmo, reclutamento di militari, truppe di “interposizione”, costituzione dell’esercito europeo e approntamento di una “difesa europea” stanno diventando il pane quotidiano dei governi di tutta Europa. Quella stessa Europa che 110 anni fa si trovò coinvolta nel primo, orribile massacro di una guerra mondiale imperialista. Giovani di ogni provenienza vennero comandati di scannarsi a vicenda nelle trincee del continente per difendere, nella “patria”, gli interessi delle rispettive classi dominanti. Il macello ebbe il suo corso, ma da esso sorsero quelle ribellioni, quelle rivolte, quelle insurrezioni. Insomma quel disfattismo rivoluzionario che è esattamente l’argomento a cui è dedicato il presente volume.
Un disfattismo che ci teniamo a rivalutare per gli appuntamenti cui la storia chiamerà le generazioni del futuro, tenendo sempre presente che fu proprio l’annientamento fisico di quell’esperienza (con la controrivoluzione degli anni ’20 e ’30) a far sì che nella Seconda guerra mondiale un simile fenomeno non potesse riprodursi. A tutto vantaggio dell’instaurazione di un nuovo mondo fondato ancora sullo sfruttamento e sull’oppressione.

The winds of war are blowing ever more fiercely across the world, directly affecting Western Europe as well. Plans for rearmament, military recruitment, “interposition” troops, the formation of a European army and the preparation of a “European defence” are becoming the daily bread of governments all across Europe. This is the same Europe that 110 years ago found itself involved in the first horrific massacre of an imperialist world war. Young people from all origins were ordered to slaughter each other in the trenches of the continent to defend the interests of their respective ruling classes in their “homelands”. The slaughter took its course, but from it arose rebellions, revolts and insurrections. In short, that revolutionary defeatism which is precisely the subject of this book. A defeatism that we wish to re-evaluate in light of the events that history will call upon future generations, always bearing in mind that it was precisely the physical annihilation of that experience (with the counter-revolution of the 1920s and 1930s) that prevented a similar phenomenon from recurring in the Second World War. This was to the advantage of the establishment of a new world still based on exploitation and oppression.
