1 MAGGIO 2023: A MILANO E NAPOLI LA RADICALITÀ OPERAIA SBARAGLIA LE INUTILI PASSERELLE DEI CONFEDERALI!

Ieri, 1° Maggio, la presidente Giorgia Meloni ha convocato il Consiglio dei ministri per abrogare il reddito di cittadinanza, per rendere ancora più destrutturato e precario il lavoro e sposare integralmente il programma di Confindustria.

Contro queste scelte, che si aggiungono all’approvazione del decreto Cutro (spacciato come un aiuto alle donne) e all’abolizione del sostegno agli affitti, a Milano circa 15 MILA tra lavoratori, lavoratrici, precari e studenti hanno preso parte alla manifestazione unitaria, organizzata dal SI Cobas assieme quasi tutti i sindacati di base e a svariati movimenti sociali, comitati e organizzazioni politiche, mentre in mattinata a Napoli circa 2 MILA sono scesi in piazza rispondendo all’appello del SI Cobas, di SGB e dei movimenti dei disoccupati organizzati.

Due cortei dal carattere inequivocabilmente anticapitalista e internazionalista, con parole d’ordine chiare contro la guerra e contro ogni imperialismo, contro il governo Meloni che oggi rappresenta in pieno il governo dei padroni, per rivendicare aumenti salariali almeno pari all’attuale tasso d’inflazione, e contro la repressione delle lotte sindacali e sociali.

In particolare, la straordinaria partecipazione al corteo di Milano ci consegna un dato che è oggettivamente inoppugnabile: la crescente domanda di opposizione sociale, di lotta e di conflitto, che emerge con sempre più convinzione dalla piazza.

In quest’ottica, il raffronto tra il fiume di lavoratori combattivi (in larghissima parte del SI Cobas e provenienti da tutte le principali province del centro-nord) che sfilavano per le vie del centro cittadino fino alla centralissima piazza del Duomo, e le due-tremila che a qualche chilometro di distanza si sono accodate alla fiacca e assonnata manifestazione della triplice Cgil-Cisl-Uil, appare quanto mai eloquente e impietoso.

L’eclisse delle burocrazie confederali nelle aree a maggior densità produttiva, e la contestuale crescita del sindacalismo conflittuale, col SI Cobas quale perno centrale, così come è emersa in una data-simbolo come il 1 maggio, ieri è apparsa evidente a tal punto che nonostante il proverbiale silenzio di tutti i media di stato e filopadronali, il TG3 regionale della Lombardia si è visto praticamente costretto a “svelare” (sia con le immagini sia nella cronaca) le reali proporzioni delle due piazze.

Seppur con dimensioni minori e in un contesto sociale estremamente diverso, la piazza di Napoli ha confermato lo stesso dato, qualitativo prim’ancora che quantitativo. 

Il corteo ha visto centinaia di operai della logistica, dei porti, dell’igiene ambientale, del Multiservizi e dell’Ilva, giunti anche da Roma, Taranto, Salerno, Catanzaro e Palermo, sfilare a fianco dei disoccupati 7 novembre e Cantiere 167 Scampia, in un momento delicatissimo per la vertenza dei senza lavoro partenopei, da sempre sotto attacco di una dura repressione e in questi giorni oggetto di una campagna di criminalizzazione senza precedenti da parte del presidente della Regione De Luca. Proprio per questo motivo SI Cobas e Sgb hanno scelto di concludere la manifestazione con un comizio sotto la sede della giunta regionale.

La giornata di ieri ha dunque fatto chiarezza da tutti i punti di vista:

1) ha chiarito ancora una volta che esistono due punti di vista differenti e nei fatti inconciliabili tra loro, sia per quanto riguarda la costruzione di un movimento di opposizione alle politiche del governo Meloni, sia per quanto riguarda la concessione stessa del ruolo del sindacato: da un lato chi come Cgil-Cisl-Uil considera la classe lavoratrice come un orpello inoffensivo dei padroni e dello stato borghese da chiamare a raccolta “una tantum” senza mai brandire l’unica arma che i lavoratori hanno a disposizione: quella dello sciopero; dall’altro chi grazie agli scioperi ha conquistato migliori condizioni di lavoro e salariali, lotta quotidianamente nei luoghi di lavoro e del non lavoro, produce conflitto e non è disposto ad arretrare nella difesa dei propri diritti;

2) ha definitivamente fatto luce sulla natura strumentale delle polemiche e dei pettegolezzi di corridoio che anche in questi mesi hanno tenuto banco nel variegato panorama del sindacalismo di base all’indomani dello sciopero generale del 2 dicembre e della manifestazione nazionale del giorno successivo a Roma.

Chi in questo frangente, per mala fede o anche solo per mancanza di informazioni, ha accusato il SI Cobas di “settarismo” o di pretese “egemoniche” su tutto il movimento, nelle scorse settimane e ancora più nella giornata di ieri è stato clamorosamente smentito.

Forti della partecipazione oceanica dei lavoratori del SI Cobas e/o del legame indissolubile che da tempo unisce la nostra organizzazione e i disoccupati organizzati di Napoli, avremmo potuto tranquillamente fare anche noi, come hanno fatto e stanno facendo altri, “tutto da soli”: chiamarci il nostro corteo, aprirlo col nostro striscione e le nostre bandiere in prima fila, e finanche proclamare, come qualcuno ha frettolosamente fatto in questi giorni, un nostro “sciopero generale”…

No! A noi non interessano questi sterili giochini; non ci appassionano queste stucchevoli competizioni tra apparati: la giornata di ieri ha chiarito anche ai ciechi chi realmente pratica questi terreni e adotta questi metodi politicisti e autoreferenziali e chi come noi invece assume quali uniche discriminanti la chiarezza dei contenuti e delle parole d’ordine e la difesa dell’autonomia del movimento di classe da partiti, partitini e manovrine elettoraliste, di qualsiasi tipo esse siano.

A Milano e a Napoli gli striscioni di apertura dei cortei erano unitari, i microfoni aperti a tutti e la possibilità di parola (ferme restando la condivisione delle piattaforme di indizione e il rispetto per le realtà più rappresentative) garantita a tutte le organizzazioni e realtà sociali, indipendentemente dalle dimensioni e dall’appartenenza di sigla.

Oggi è emerso chiaramente che l’unità che bisogna ricercare è quella della classe: dei lavoratori della logistica che lottano per difendere le conquiste strappate negli scorsi anni e ora si trovano sotto assedio, dei precari che non accettano più di essere tali, di chi vive ai margini nelle periferie delle città, di chi lotta per un lavoro a salario pieno, per il diritto alla casa, per la sicurezza nei luoghi di lavoro, per collegare le nostre lotte con quelle dei lavoratori francesi e degli altri paesi, per contrastare la guerra e l’economia di guerra che produce una mattanza quotidiana in Ucraina e in tutto il mondo.

È questa l’unità che ci serve, ed è questa la “materia prima” necessaria ad innescare una mobilitazione di massa unitaria che possa portare in tempi brevi all’indizione di un vero sciopero generale, a fare davvero “come in Francia”.

Chi come noi si pone su questo terreno, non ha tempo da perdere nell’attesa illusoria che i bonzi sindacali si muovano contro i loro stessi interessi, e neanche a ricorrere un’unità di facciata con chi si illude di essere autosufficiente…

MAY 1, 2023: IN MILAN AND NAPLES WORKERS’ RADICALITY DISCOVERS THE USELESS CATWALK OF CGIL-CISL-UIL

Yesterday, May 1st, President Giorgia Meloni convened the Council of Ministers to repeal the basic income, to make work even more unstructured and precarious and to fully embrace the Confindustria (bosses’) program.

Against these choices, which are added to the approval of the Cutro decree (regarding the issue of immigration, a new law against immigrants) and the abolition of the basic income support, in Milan about 15 THOUSAND workers, temporary workers and students took part in the joint demonstration, organized by SI Cobas together with almost all the grassroots unions and various social movements, committees and political organizations, while in the morning in Naples around 2 THOUSAND took to the streets responding to the appeal of SI Cobas, SGB and the movements of the organized unemployed.

Two marches with an unequivocally anti-capitalist and internationalist character, with clear speeches against war and against all imperialisms, against the Meloni government which today fully represents the government of the bosses, to demand wage increases at least equal to the current rate of inflation, and against the repression of union and social struggles.

In particular, the extraordinary participation in the Milan demonstration gives us a fact that is objectively incontrovertible: the growing demand for social opposition, struggle and conflict, which emerges with ever more conviction from the square.

From this point of view, the comparison between the stream of combative workers (a very large part of the SI Cobas and coming from all the main provinces of the centre-north) who paraded through the streets of the city center up to the very central Piazza del Duomo, and the two – three thousand who, a few kilometers away, joined the sluggish and sleepy demonstration of the triple CGIL-CISL-UIL, appears extremely eloquent and merciless.

The eclipse of the confederal bureaucracies in the areas with the highest production density, and the simultaneous growth of combative trade unionism, with SI Cobas as the central pivot, as it emerged in a symbolic date such as May 1st, yesterday appeared evident to such an extent that despite the proverbial silence of all the state and pro-owner media, the Lombardy regional TG3 was practically forced to “reveal” (both with images and in the news) the real proportions of the two squares.

Albeit with smaller dimensions and in an extremely different social context, the square of Naples confirmed the same fact, qualitative rather than quantitative.

The demonstration saw hundreds of workers from logistics, ports, environmental hygiene, Multiservices and Ilva, who also came from Rome, Taranto, Salerno, Catanzaro and Palermo, parading alongside the unemployed 7 November and Cantiere 167 Scampia, in a very delicate moment for the dispute of the Neapolitan unemployed, who have always been under attack by harsh repression and in recent days the subject of an unprecedented criminalization campaign by the president of the Region De Luca. Precisely for this reason SI Cobas and Sgb have chosen to conclude the demonstration with a rally under the headquarters of the regional council.

Yesterday therefore brought clarity from all points of view:

1. once again clarified that there are two different and in fact irreconcilable points of view, both as regards the construction of a movement of opposition to the policies of the Meloni government, and as regards the very conception of the role of the union: on the one hand who like Cgil-Cisl-Uil consider the working class as a harmless tinsel of the bosses and the bourgeois state to be summoned “one-off” without ever brandishing the only weapon that workers have at their disposal: that of the strike; on the other hand, those who thanks to the strikes have won better working conditions and wages, fight daily in the workplace and outside the workplace, produce conflict and are not willing to retreat in the defense of their rights;

2. has definitively shed light on the instrumental nature of the controversies and gossip in the corridors that have held sway in recent months in the variegated panorama of grassroots trade unionism in the aftermath of the general strike of 2 December and the national demonstration the following day in Rome.

Whoever at this juncture, even just for lack of information, has accused SI Cobas of “sectarianism” or “hegemonic” claims over the whole movement, has been blatantly belied in recent weeks and even more yesterday.

Strengthened by the overwhelming participation of SI Cobas workers and/or by the indissoluble bond that has long united our organization and the organized unemployed of Naples, we too could have easily done, as others have done and are doing, “all by ourselves”: call us our demonstration, opening it with our banner and our flags in the front row, and even proclaiming, as someone has hastily done these days, our “general strike”…

No! We are not interested in these sterile games; we are not passionate about these cloying competitions between apparatuses: yesterday made it clear even to the blind who really practices these terrains and adopts these politicist and self-referential methods and who, like us, instead assumes as the only discriminating factors the clarity of the contents and of the watchwords and the defense of the autonomy of the class movement from parties, small parties and electoral maneuvers, of whatever type they are.

In Milan and Naples, the opening banners of the marches were uniform, the microphones open to all and the possibility of speaking (without prejudice to the sharing of the calling platforms and respect for the most representative realities) guaranteed to all organizations and social realities, regardless of the size and belonging to the brand name.

Today it has clearly emerged that the unity that must be sought is that of the class: of logistics workers who fight to defend the conquests wrested over the past few years and are now under siege, of precarious workers who no longer accept being such, of those who live on the fringes on the outskirts of cities, of those who fight for full-wage work, for the right to housing, for safety in the workplace, to connect our struggles with those of workers in France and other countries, to oppose the war and the war economy that produces a daily slaughter in Ukraine and around the world.

This is the unity we need, and this is the “raw material” necessary to trigger a unitary mass mobilization that can quickly lead to the calling of a real general strike, to really do “like in France”.

Those who, like us, place themselves on this terrain, do not have time to waste in the illusory wait for the union bonzes to move against their own interests, nor in resorting to a facade unity with those who delude themselves of being self-sufficient…
