Questa è la dichiarazione congiunta sull’aggressione USA-sionista all’Iran appena approvata da alcune organizzazioni internazionaliste, che cooperano negli ultimi anni alla formazione di un campo di classe a scala internazionale totalmente indipendente dai due fronti capitalisti-imperialisti che si scontrano per l’egemonia nel mercato e nella politica mondiale. Per la sconfitta dell’aggressione di Stati Uniti e Israele all’Iran
Organizziamo una mobilitazione e una campagna internazionale
1- L’imperialismo statunitense ha intrapreso una campagna globale di aggressione per invertire la sua tendenza storica verso il declino, per consolidare la sua egemonia globale e, in definitiva, per accerchiare il suo bersaglio primario, la Cina. Il tentativo di trasformare radicalmente il Medio Oriente in linea con gli interessi regionali dell’imperialismo statunitense e di Israele è entrato nella sua fase più aggressiva e pervasiva, raggiungendo oggi un punto di svolta storico. L’aggressione israelo-americana si è evoluta in una massiccia campagna imperialista volta a liquidare completamente i centri di resistenza nella regione, siano essi movimenti popolari, organizzazioni di resistenza o persino regimi non allineati con il sionismo e l’imperialismo americano. Il significato ultimo e palese di queste mosse strategiche è che, per il raggiungimento del dominio regionale, ora è il momento della resa dei conti con l’Iran.
2. Al di là delle sue ricche riserve di petrolio e gas naturale, l’Iran è uno dei paesi più importanti al mondo per la sua posizione geostrategica, il dominio sulle rotte commerciali, la sicurezza idrica ed energetica e le sue riserve di terre rare e altri minerali strategici. In altre parole, l’Iran è direttamente nel mirino non solo perché è in contrasto con il blocco israelo-americano, ma anche perché le sue vaste risorse e opportunità stuzzicano l’appetito del capitale globale. L’obiettivo dell’imperialismo statunitense è preservare la propria supremazia globale stabilendo un dominio assoluto, sia militare che politico, sulla regione. Un potenziale cambio di regime in Iran significherebbe la rimozione dell’ultimo ostacolo all’espansione sionista.
La vita del popolo iraniano non ha mai avuto alcun valore per queste potenze imperialiste; i missili Tomahawk statunitensi che hanno colpito una scuola dove sono state massacrate 165 studentesse, l’uccisione di centinaia di civili e il bombardamento di ospedali, infrastrutture civili e raffinerie di petrolio in modo da provocare disastri ambientali, rappresentano la dimostrazione più concreta di questa barbarie.
3. Lo scenario che si presenta al popolo iraniano prevede eserciti di occupazione stranieri, massacri etnici, guerra civile, spartizione del paese e una sanguinosa operazione di terra. Il popolo iraniano sa che la libertà può essere conquistata solo attraverso la propria organizzazione indipendente e il proprio potere collettivo. La guerra imperialista non ha altro scopo se non quello di soffocare le voci dei lavoratori poveri in lotta da decenni e portare distruzione. L’unica alternativa progressista in Iran è la sconfitta dell’imperialismo e l’intensificarsi di una lotta indipendente in cui gli oppressi iraniani determinino il proprio destino con le proprie mani.
4. Contemporaneamente ai bombardamenti dell’Iran, è stato lanciato un feroce attacco contro il Libano, mentre continua il blocco assassino di Gaza. A seguito dei brutali bombardamenti del Libano, che hanno preso di mira aree residenziali civili, quasi un milione di persone sono state sfollate e centinaia sono state uccise e ferite. Dopo l’assassinio di Nasrallah e della sua leadership nel 2024, l’obiettivo attuale è l’eliminazione totale di Hezbollah e la trasformazione del Libano in uno stato pienamente allineato all’imperialismo occidentale. Allo stesso tempo, l’attacco dell’Iran ai paesi arabi confinanti che ospitano basi statunitensi danneggia gravemente l’immagine di onnipotenza e arroganza degli Stati Uniti. Le subordinate monarchie del Golfo sono molto più insoddisfatte nei confronti degli Stati Uniti che dell’Iran, poiché subiscono ingenti perdite economiche a causa di una guerra che volevano evitare. La facciata delle economie in stile Dubai (immobiliare speculativo, la bolla nel settore delle costruzioni, turismo) si è incrinata, poiché serve anche una piccola élite globale à-la Epstein. Questo “sviluppo” capitalistico, che viene addirittura presentato come una “soluzione” per la devastata Gaza, si basa sullo sfruttamento più estremo di moderni schiavi: le decine di milioni di lavoratori immigrati nelle petromonarchie. Una lotta di classe internazionalista deve includere anche questa parte dimenticata della classe lavoratrice globale.
5- Gli effetti di una potenziale vittoria imperialista in Iran si manifesterebbero con conseguenze reazionarie in tutto il mondo. L’aggressione dell’imperialismo statunitense farebbe un enorme balzo in avanti. Pertanto, la sconfitta della coalizione israelo-americana in Iran è un obiettivo fondamentale su cui tutte le forze progressiste del mondo devono unirsi nella lotta antimperialista. Le operazioni attualmente in corso, specificamente contro Cuba e l’Iran, non sono semplici obiettivi di cambio di regime; sono tentativi di liquidare completamente i centri di resistenza contro l’egemonia imperialista statunitense in quelle regioni e nel mondo. In queste condizioni, qualsiasi forma di legittimazione dell’aggressione imperialista come portatrice di libertà per le classi lavoratrici, sia all’interno dell’Iran che nella diaspora, deve essere fermamente condannata e contrastata, in particolare dalle organizzazioni che si oppongono al regime islamico da una prospettiva di classe. Il dovere dei rivoluzionari è partecipare alla resistenza contro l’aggressione imperialista e sionista senza rinunciare alla propria indipendenza politica, dimostrando la necessità di una nuova leadership della classe operaia che si unisca a tutti i lavoratori della regione contro i governi capitalisti, per formare un movimento di massa di ribellione congiunta in grado di spazzare via effettivamente la presenza dell’imperialismo e del sionismo dall’Asia occidentale.
6- Il regime della Repubblica Islamica, dopo aver represso il movimento operaio e comunista negli anni ’80, così come le più recenti lotte operaie e popolari, ha mantenuto nel paese il funzionamento di un’economia capitalista creando al contempo una nuova élite. Alcune strutture di uno stato sociale erano solide, sotto la copertura delle tradizioni e delle istituzioni islamiche, sebbene siano state gradualmente ridimensionate dalle riforme economiche neoliberiste, dall’apertura agli investimenti esteri anche dei paesi occidentali, con una fiorente borsa valori, le Zone Economiche Speciali e le privatizzazioni al di fuori del settore petrolifero. Anche il blocco di opposizione agli Stati Uniti, guidato da Cina e Russia, non costituisce un’alternativa politica e sociale. Al contrario, cerca di rafforzarsi attraverso bassi costi del lavoro e la drastica limitazione delle libertà dei lavoratori e delle masse popolari. L’obiettivo di sconfiggere il blocco USA-NATO-UE non viene raggiunto – anzi, viene minato – dalla logica di quelle correnti di sinistra che seguono il principio “il nemico del mio nemico è mio amico”. Ciò rappresenta una manifestazione di debolezza politica e un’evasione dalle responsabilità proprie della lotta di classe.
7- Nonostante gli sforzi di Trump per presentarla come un successo senza precedenti, una vittoria totale, la verità è che l’aggressione all’Iran ha incontrato una resistenza inaspettata, tanto che ora gli Stati Uniti sono costretti a chiedere (ricattando) l’aiuto dell’Europa e persino della Cina per sbloccare lo Stretto di Hormuz. Inoltre, ed è di fondamentale importanza, questa guerra è la più impopolare di sempre, con poco più del 30% di consensi all’interno degli Stati Uniti. L’opposizione alla guerra contro l’Iran può rappresentare un terreno fertile per la crescita di un movimento anticapitalista nelle principali potenze imperialiste. Gravi contraddizioni stanno emergendo all’interno del campo dell’imperialismo occidentale. Gli sviluppi potrebbero assumere una dinamica imprevedibile, con reazioni a catena in un ciclo di crisi energetica, che porterebbero a un’intensificazione dei fenomeni di crisi – soprattutto in Europa – se la guerra non dovesse essere breve. In questo contesto, le contraddizioni tra Stati Uniti ed Europa si stanno intensificando. È dovere del movimento rivoluzionario di classe porsi come obiettivo immediato lo scioglimento della NATO e la chiusura di tutte le basi militari al servizio di una macchina da guerra sanguinaria.
8- La competizione inter-capitalistica spinge rapidamente verso una guerra globale. La prevenzione di un massacro reciproco può essere garantita solo da coloro che non hanno spoglie da spartirsi e che ora condividono il dolore, i morti, la distruzione, la povertà e lo sfollamento – ovvero le classi lavoratrici e i popoli di tutto il mondo. Un movimento operaio internazionalista deve rappresentare questa convinzione e la possibilità di un rovesciamento rivoluzionario del sistema capitalistico.

For the defeat of the aggression of the US and Israel against Iran
Let us organize an international mobilization and campaign
- US imperialism has embarked on a global campaign of aggression to reverse its historical trend of decline, re-consolidate its global hegemony, and ultimately encircle its primary target, China. The endeavor to radically transform the Middle East in line with the regional interests of US imperialism and Israel has entered its most aggressive and comprehensive phase, reaching today a historical breaking point. The US-Israeli aggression has evolved into a massive imperialist campaign aiming to completely liquidate centers of resistance in the region, whether they are popular movements, resistance organizations, or even regimes that do not align with Zionism and American imperialism. The ultimate and overt meaning of these strategic moves is that, for the sake of finalizing regional dominance, it is now Iran’s turn.
- Far beyond its rich oil and natural gas reserves, Iran is one of the most critical countries in the world due to its geostrategetic position, dominance over trade routes, water and energy security, and its reserves of rare earth elements and other strategic minerals. In other words, Iran is directly in the crosshairs not only because it is at odds with the US-Israeli bloc, but also because its vast resources and opportunities whet the appetite of global capital. The aim of US imperialism is to preserve its global supremacy by establishing absolute dominance in the region militarily and politically. A potential regime change in Iran would mean the removal of the final obstacle to Zionist expansion. The lives of the Iranian people have never held value for these imperialist powers; indeed, the US Tomahawk missiles striking a school where 165 schoolgirls were massacred, the killing of hundreds of civilians, and the bombing of hospitals, civilian infrastructure, and oil refineries in a way that triggers environmental disasters is the most concrete declaration of this barbarism.
3-The scenarios presented to the Iranian people consist of foreign occupation armies, ethnic butchery, civil war, the partition of the country, and a bloody ground operation. The Iranian people know that freedom can only be won through their own independent organization and collective power. Imperialist war serves no purpose other than suffocating the voices of the poor laborers who have struggled for decades and bringing destruction. The only progressive alternative in Iran is the defeat of imperialism and the escalation of an independent struggle in which the oppressed of Iran determine their own destiny with their own hands.
4- Simultaneously with the bombardment of Iran, a fierce assault has been launched against Lebanon, while the murderous blockade of Gaza continues. As a result of brutal bombardments of Lebanon targeting civilian residential areas, nearly one million people have been displaced, hundreds have been killed and injured. Following the assassination of Nasrallah and the leadership cadre in 2024, the current goal is the total elimination of Hezbollah and the transformation of Lebanon into a state fully aligned with Western imperialism. At the same time, Iran’s attack on neighboring Arab countries that host U.S. bases, seriously damages the image of U.S. omnipotence and arrogance. The subordinate Gulf monarchies are far more dissatisfied with the United States than with Iran, as they suffer significant economic losses from a war they wanted to avoid. The façade of Dubai-style economies (speculative real estate, bubble-construction, tourism) has cracked, since it is also serving a small global Epstein-type elite. This capitalist “development,” which is even presented as a “solution” for the devastated Gaza, is based on the most extreme exploitation of modern slaves—the tens of millions of migrant workers in the petro-monarchies.Any internationalist class struggle must also include this forgotten part of the global working class.
5- The effects of a potential imperialist victory in Iran would manifest reactionary consequences across the globe. The aggression of US imperialism would make a massive leap forward. Therefore, the defeat of the US-Israeli coalition in Iran is a fundamental goal upon which all progressive forces in the world must unite in the anti-imperialist struggle. The operations currently carried out specifically against Cuba and Iran are not merely regime-change targets; they are attempts to completely liquidate the centers of resistance against US imperialist hegemony in the region and the world. Under these conditions, any kind of legitimation of the imperialist aggression as bearer of freedom for the working classes, either inside Iran or among the diaspora, is to be strongly condemned and opposed, in particular by the organisations opposing the Islamic regime from a working class standpoint. The duty of revolutionaries is to participate in the resistance against imperialist and Zionist aggression without renouncing their political independence, and showing the necessity of a new, working class leadership to merge with all workers of the region against capitalist governments, to form the mass movement of joint rebellion that can effectively wipe the presence of imperialism and Zionism from West Asia.
6- The regime of the Islamic Republic, after suppressing the labor and communist movement in the 1980s, as well as more recent workers’ and popular struggles, maintained the functioning of a capitalist economy while creating a new elite. Some structures of a welfare state were strong, under the cover of Islamic traditions and institutions, although they were gradually curtailed by neoliberal economic reforms, the opening of investments even from Western countries, with a thriving stock exchange, Special Economic Zones, and privatizations outside the oil sector. The opposing bloc to the United States, led by China and Russia, does not constitute a political and social alternative, also. On the contrary, it seeks to strengthen itself through low labor costs, and the extreme curtailment of workers’ and popular freedoms. The goal of defeating the US–NATO–EU bloc is not served—indeed, it is undermined—by the logic found in currents of the left that follow the notion that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” This represents a manifestation of political weakness and an evasion of the responsibilities entailed in the class struggles.
7- Despite Trump’s efforts to sell it as an unprecedented success, a total victory, the truth is that the aggression on Iran has encountered an unexpected resi stance, so much that now the US is compelled to ask (blackmailing) Europe’s help and even China’s, to unblock the Strait of Hormuz. Furthermore, and this is of great importance, this war is the most unpopular war ever, with little over 30% popular support inside the US. Opposition to the war on Iran can be a powerful terrain for the growth of an anti-capitalist movement in the top imperialist power. Serious contradictions are emerging within the camp of Western imperialism. Developments may take on an unpredictable dynamic, with chain reactions in a cycle of energy crisis, leading to an intensification of crisis phenomena—especially in Europe—if the war is not short. In this context, the contradictions between the United States and Europe are intensifying. It is the duty of the class-based revolutionary movement to set as its immediate goal the dissolution of NATO and the closure of all military bases that serve a murderous war machine.
8. Capitalist competition rapidly drives toward global war. The prevention of mutual slaughter can only be ensured by those who have nothing to divide among themselves and who now share pain, the dead, destruction, poverty, and displacement — that is, the working classes and the peoples of the whole world. An internationalist working class movement must represent this conviction and the possibility of a revolutionary overthrow of the capitalist system.

Να ηττηθεί η επίθεση των ΗΠΑ–Ισραήλ κατά του Ιράν
1. Ο αμερικανικός ιμπεριαλισμός έχει ξεκινήσει μια παγκόσμια εκστρατεία επιθετικότητας για να αντιστρέψει την ιστορική του πορεία παρακμής, να εδραιώσει εκ νέου την παγκόσμια ηγεμονία του και τελικά να περικυκλώσει τον κύριο στόχο του, την Κίνα. Η προσπάθεια ριζικού μετασχηματισμού της Μέσης Ανατολής σύμφωνα με τα περιφερειακά συμφέροντα των ΗΠΑ και του Ισραήλ έχει εισέλθει στην πιο επιθετική και ολοκληρωμένη της φάση, φτάνοντας σήμερα σε ένα ιστορικό σημείο καμπής. Η αμερικανοϊσραηλινή επιθετικότητα έχει εξελιχθεί σε μια μαζική ιμπεριαλιστική εκστρατεία που στοχεύει στην πλήρη εξόντωση των κέντρων αντίστασης στην περιοχή, είτε πρόκειται για λαϊκά κινήματα, οργανώσεις αντίστασης ή ακόμη και καθεστώτα που δεν ευθυγραμμίζονται με τον σιωνισμό και τον αμερικανικό ιμπεριαλισμό. 2. Πέρα από τα πλούσια αποθέματα πετρελαίου και φυσικού αερίου, το Ιράν είναι μία από τις πιο κρίσιμες χώρες στον κόσμο λόγω της γεωστρατηγικής του θέσης, του ελέγχου εμπορικών οδών, της ασφάλειας νερού και ενέργειας, καθώς και των αποθεμάτων σπάνιων γαιών και άλλων στρατηγικών ορυκτών. Με άλλα λόγια, το Ιράν βρίσκεται στο στόχαστρο όχι μόνο επειδή βρίσκεται σε αντιπαράθεση με το μπλοκ ΗΠΑ–Ισραήλ, αλλά και επειδή οι τεράστιοι πόροι και δυνατότητές του διεγείρουν την όρεξη του παγκόσμιου κεφαλαίου. Στόχος του αμερικανικού ιμπεριαλισμού είναι να διατηρήσει την παγκόσμια υπεροχή του εγκαθιδρύοντας απόλυτη στρατιωτική και πολιτική κυριαρχία στην περιοχή. Μια πιθανή αλλαγή καθεστώτος στο Ιράν θα σήμαινε την άρση του τελευταίου εμποδίου στην επέκταση του σιωνισμού. Οι ζωές του ιρανικού λαού δεν είχαν ποτέ αξία για αυτές τις ιμπεριαλιστικές δυνάμεις· πράγματι, οι πύραυλοι Tomahawk των ΗΠΑ που έπληξαν ένα σχολείο όπου σφαγιάστηκαν 165 μαθήτριες, η δολοφονία εκατοντάδων αμάχων και οι βομβαρδισμοί νοσοκομείων, πολιτικών υποδομών και διυλιστηρίων πετρελαίου που προκαλούν περιβαλλοντικές καταστροφές, αποτελούν την πιο σαφή απόδειξη αυτής της βαρβαρότητας.
3. Τα σενάρια που παρουσιάζονται στον ιρανικό λαό περιλαμβάνουν στρατούς κατοχής, εθνοτικές σφαγές, εμφύλιο πόλεμο, διαμελισμό της χώρας και αιματηρή χερσαία επιχείρηση. Ο ιρανικός λαός γνωρίζει ότι η ελευθερία μπορεί να κατακτηθεί μόνο μέσω της δικής του ανεξάρτητης οργάνωσης και της συλλογικής του δύναμης. Ο ιμπεριαλιστικός πόλεμος δεν εξυπηρετεί τίποτε άλλο παρά την καταστολή της φωνής των φτωχών εργαζομένων που αγωνίζονται εδώ και δεκαετίες και την επέκταση της καταστροφής. Η μόνη προοδευτική εναλλακτική στο Ιράν είναι η ήττα του ιμπεριαλισμού και η κλιμάκωση ενός ανεξάρτητου αγώνα, όπου οι καταπιεσμένοι του Ιράν καθορίζουν τη μοίρα τους με τα δικά τους χέρια.
4. Ταυτόχρονα με τον βομβαρδισμό του Ιράν, έχει εξαπολυθεί σφοδρή επίθεση κατά του Λιβάνου, ενώ συνεχίζεται ο φονικός αποκλεισμός της Γάζας. Ως αποτέλεσμα των βίαιων βομβαρδισμών στον Λίβανο που στοχεύουν κατοικημένες περιοχές, σχεδόν ένα εκατομμύριο άνθρωποι έχουν εκτοπιστεί, ενώ εκατοντάδες έχουν σκοτωθεί ή τραυματιστεί. Μετά τη δολοφονία του Νασράλα και της ηγετικής ομάδας το 2024, ο τρέχων στόχος είναι η πλήρης εξάλειψη της Χεζμπολάχ και η μετατροπή του Λιβάνου σε κράτος πλήρως ευθυγραμμισμένο με τον δυτικό ιμπεριαλισμό. Ταυτόχρονα, η επίθεση του Ιράν σε γειτονικές αραβικές χώρες που φιλοξενούν αμερικανικές βάσεις πλήττει σοβαρά την εικόνα της παντοδυναμίας των ΗΠΑ. Οι εξαρτημένες μοναρχίες του Κόλπου είναι πολύ πιο δυσαρεστημένες με τις ΗΠΑ παρά με το Ιράν, καθώς υφίστανται σημαντικές οικονομικές απώλειες από έναν πόλεμο που ήθελαν να αποφύγουν. Η βιτρίνα οικονομιών τύπου Ντουμπάι (κερδοσκοπικό real estate, «φούσκες» κατασκευών, τουρισμός) έχει ραγίσει, καθώς εξυπηρετεί μόνο μια μικρή παγκόσμια ελίτ τύπου Επστάιν. Αυτή η καπιταλιστική «ανάπτυξη», που παρουσιάζεται ακόμη και ως «λύση» για την κατεστραμμένη Γάζα, βασίζεται στην ακραία εκμετάλλευση σύγχρονων σκλάβων — δεκάδων εκατομμυρίων μεταναστών εργατών στις πετρελαιομοναρχίες. Κάθε διεθνιστικός ταξικός αγώνας πρέπει να περιλαμβάνει και αυτό το ξεχασμένο τμήμα της παγκόσμιας εργατικής τάξης.
5. Οι επιπτώσεις μιας ενδεχόμενης ιμπεριαλιστικής νίκης στο Ιράν θα έχουν αντιδραστικές συνέπειες σε παγκόσμια κλίμακα. Η επιθετικότητα του αμερικανικού ιμπεριαλισμού θα κάνει ένα τεράστιο άλμα. Επομένως, η ήττα του αμερικανοϊσραηλινού συνασπισμού στο Ιράν αποτελεί θεμελιώδη στόχο για όλες τις προοδευτικές δυνάμεις του κόσμου στον αντιιμπεριαλιστικό αγώνα. Οι επιχειρήσεις που διεξάγονται σήμερα κατά της Κούβας και του Ιράν δεν στοχεύουν απλώς σε αλλαγή καθεστώτος, αλλά στην πλήρη εξάλειψη των κέντρων αντίστασης ενάντια στην αμερικανική ηγεμονία. Υπό αυτές τις συνθήκες, κάθε νομιμοποίηση της ιμπεριαλιστικής επιθετικότητας ως φορέα «ελευθερίας», είτε μέσα στο Ιράν, είτε στη διασπορά, πρέπει να καταδικαστεί. Καθήκον των επαναστατών είναι να συμμετέχουν στην αντίσταση χωρίς να εγκαταλείπουν την πολιτική τους ανεξαρτησία και να προβάλλουν την ανάγκη μιας νέας εργατικής ηγεσίας που θα ενώσει τους εργαζόμενους της περιοχής ενάντια στις καπιταλιστικές κυβερνήσεις.

Το καθεστώς της Ισλαμικής Δημοκρατίας, αφού κατέστειλε το εργατικό και κομμουνιστικό κίνημα τη δεκαετία του 1980, καθώς και πιο πρόσφατους εργατικούς και λαϊκούς αγώνες, διατήρησε τη λειτουργία μιας καπιταλιστικής οικονομίας, δημιουργώντας ταυτόχρονα μια νέα ελίτ. Ορισμένες δομές ενός κράτους πρόνοιας ήταν ισχυρές, υπό την κάλυψη ισλαμικών παραδόσεων και θεσμών, αν και σταδιακά περιορίστηκαν από νεοφιλελεύθερες οικονομικές μεταρρυθμίσεις, το άνοιγμα σε επενδύσεις ακόμη και από δυτικές χώρες, με μια ανθηρή χρηματιστηριακή αγορά, Ειδικές Οικονομικές Ζώνες και ιδιωτικοποιήσεις εκτός του πετρελαϊκού τομέα.
Το αντίπαλο μπλοκ προς τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, με επικεφαλής την Κίνα και τη Ρωσία, δεν αποτελεί επίσης μια πολιτική και κοινωνική εναλλακτική. Αντίθετα, επιδιώκει να ενισχυθεί μέσω χαμηλού κόστους εργασίας και της ακραίας περιστολής των εργατικών και λαϊκών ελευθεριών. Ο στόχος της ήττας του μπλοκ ΗΠΑ–ΝΑΤΟ–ΕΕ δεν εξυπηρετείται—αντίθετα υπονομεύεται—από τη λογική που συναντάται σε ρεύματα της Αριστεράς, τα οποία υιοθετούν την αντίληψη ότι «ο εχθρός του εχθρού μου είναι φίλος μου». Αυτό συνιστά εκδήλωση πολιτικής αδυναμίας και αποφυγή των ευθυνών που συνεπάγονται οι ταξικοί αγώνες.
7. Παρά τις προσπάθειες του Τραμπ να την παρουσιάσει ως μια πρωτοφανή επιτυχία, μια ολοκληρωτική νίκη, η αλήθεια είναι ότι η επίθεση στο Ιράν έχει συναντήσει μια απροσδόκητη αντίσταση, σε τέτοιο βαθμό ώστε πλέον οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες αναγκάζονται να ζητούν (εκβιαστικά) τη βοήθεια της Ευρώπης και ακόμη και της Κίνας για να αποδεσμευτεί το Στενό του Ορμούζ. Επιπλέον, και αυτό είναι ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό, αυτός ο πόλεμος είναι ο πιο αντιδημοφιλής πόλεμος που έχει υπάρξει ποτέ, με λίγο πάνω από 30% λαϊκή υποστήριξη στο εσωτερικό των ΗΠΑ. Η αντίθεση στον πόλεμο κατά του Ιράν μπορεί να αποτελέσει ένα ισχυρό πεδίο για την ανάπτυξη ενός αντικαπιταλιστικού κινήματος στην κορυφαία ιμπεριαλιστική δύναμη. Σοβαρές αντιφάσεις αναδύονται στο στρατόπεδο του δυτικού ιμπεριαλισμού. Οι εξελίξεις ενδέχεται να αποκτήσουν μια απρόβλεπτη δυναμική, με αλυσιδωτές αντιδράσεις σε έναν κύκλο ενεργειακής κρίσης, οδηγώντας σε όξυνση των φαινομένων κρίσης — ιδιαίτερα στην Ευρώπη — εάν ο πόλεμος δεν είναι σύντομος. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο, οι αντιθέσεις μεταξύ των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών και της Ευρώπης εντείνονται. Είναι καθήκον του ταξικού επαναστατικού κινήματος να θέσει ως άμεσο στόχο τη διάλυση του ΝΑΤΟ και το κλείσιμο όλων των στρατιωτικών βάσεων που εξυπηρετούν μια δολοφονική πολεμική μηχανή.
8. Ο καπιταλιστικός ανταγωνισμός οδηγεί με ταχείς ρυθμούς προς έναν παγκόσμιο πόλεμο. Η αποτροπή της αμοιβαίας σφαγής μπορεί να διασφαλιστεί μόνο από εκείνους που δεν έχουν τίποτα να χωρίσουν μεταξύ τους και που σήμερα μοιράζονται τον πόνο, τους νεκρούς, την καταστροφή, τη φτώχεια και τον ξεριζωμό — δηλαδή τις εργατικές τάξεις και τους λαούς όλου του κόσμου. Ένα διεθνιστικό εργατικό κίνημα οφείλει να εκφράσει αυτή την πεποίθηση και τη δυνατότητα μιας επαναστατικής ανατροπής του καπιταλιστικού συστήματος.
