The unattainable infamy of the Arab bourgeoisies – the Doha declaration
On the very day that the Netanyahu government proudly proclaimed with the arrogance of unpunished killers that it would burn Gaza, it unleashed the most violent bombings ever seen on Gaza City and sent in its tanks (with and without soldiers) to wipe out every trace of life there, the solemn Arab-Islamic summit in Doha provided yet another demonstration of the unattainable infamy of Arab and Islamic bourgeoisies.
You can read below the draft of the final declaration (which we understand has not been modified) in which almost everything is concentrated on Qatar while, regarding Palestine and the Palestinian people, the declaration merely invites states to “take all possible legal and effective measures to prevent Israel from continuing its actions against the Palestinian people.” That is: nothing. In fact, absolutely nothing, since no measures of any kind are in the works, as evidenced by the fact that even the closure of airspace to Israeli flights has been long abandoned. Not even seriously considered, then, is the other measure mentioned by some Arab newspapers: the reduction of the strong economic ties of Arab states with Israel.
What???
In this context, the support given to “Qatar, Egypt, and the United States” to carry forward the “mediation efforts” sounds downright provocative. The mediation efforts of the United States, which sent its Secretary of State Rubio to sanctify the start of the “final solution” for the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip? Read the statements of this other butcher made alongside Netanyahu: “the United States reiterates its unwavering support for Israel and condemns those of Hamas as barbaric animals. The people of Gaza deserve a better future, but a better future for them cannot begin until Hamas is eliminated.” It will thus only begin after the total destruction of Gaza, and under Zionist command.
An authentic mediator, no doubt about it.
As for Egypt, it is universally known that it was the first of the Arab countries to conclude “peace agreements” with Israel that included the freedom for Israel to massacre the Palestinian people without limit and dispossess them little by little of all their land. And he is more than ever stuck in this vile position.
On the eve of the Doha summit, the Hamas leadership had made an appeal to the Doha gang, renewing an illusion that dies hard, namely that there can be a real commonality of interests between the exploiting and parasitic bourgeois classes that dominate the Arab countries and the exploited and oppressed masses of the Arab-Islamic world, of which the Palestinian masses are the symbol. At other times, from this same leadership, and especially from the commands of the resistance, there has been an open criticism, and even a furious curse against these rulers prostituted to the Israel-United States axis, or at least, even if step by step, oriented towards breaking away from the US to maintain good relations with China, Russia, and the Brics, always unwilling to really support the Palestinian cause.
However, despite the relentless denials, this illusion returns, also due to the insufficient strength of the nonetheless broad movement of solidarity with the Palestinian resistance in the imperialist metropolises, especially because of the ongoing political inaction of the proletariat in these metropolises. But something, although with a terrible delay, begins to move. And it will help the courageous militants of the Palestinian cause to free themselves forever from the deceptive myth of the unity of the “Arab nation” or the Islamic “umma.”
Draft Declaration of the Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha:
– Reaffirm absolute support for Qatar, its security, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens.
– Emphasize the collective duty to respond to Israeli aggression in defense of our common security.
– Condemn the Israeli attack on Qatar as an attack on all Arab and Islamic countries.
– Highlight that aggression against Qatar undermines diplomatic efforts to restore peace.
– Firmly reject any attempt to justify the Israeli attack on Qatar with any pretext.
– Condemn the repeated Israeli threats to strike Qatar again.
– Emphasize the need for international action to stop Israeli aggression in the region.
– Support the efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States to stop the attack on Gaza.
– Call to oppose Israel’s plans to impose a new reality in the region.
– Condemn any Israeli attempt to forcibly displace the Palestinian people under any pretext.
