Azov battalion commanders return “home”. Denazified Ukraine? Come on!
On 8 July Zelensky at Istanbul airport received five Azov battalion commanders from Turkey. These, following the battle of the Azovstal steelworks, were detained in Turkey on the basis of an agreement for an exchange of prisoners between Moscow and Kiev (but shouldn’t they have been immediately executed, given the crimes committed?).
The pact envisaged that the leaders of the notorious paramilitary gang incorporated into the Ukrainian army of pro-Nazi ideolog would remain in Turkey “until the end of the war”. Now the leaders of the Kremlin are waving hypocritically in denouncing the “betrayal” of the agreements signed with Erdogan (professional and expert as they are, is it possible that they are only now discovering Erdogan’s duplicity?). There is no doubt that the latter, fresh from re-election, is today more concerned about not disturbing the NATO maneuver too much (that NATO of which Turkey remains an integral part) and about returning the favor offered to him by the United States in north-eastern Syria at the end of 2019, when US troops demobilized their garrisons in Rojava, leaving the field free for Turkish militias to attack Kurdish rebels, until a few months earlier “protected” (?) and used precisely by the US for an anti-Islamist function.
In any case, the release of the Azov commanders is yet another slap in the face of the reality of this infamous reactionary war to the increasingly sickening pro-Russian rhetoric on the “denazification of Ukraine” – twin sister of the equally (and, for us, still plus) nauseating Western rhetoric about Italy’s and NATO’s strenuous defense of Ukraine’s “freedom” and “self-determination”.
While the pro-Nazi leaders of the Azov battalion, who have kindly returned to their “homeland” safe and sound with a lot of state ceremonies, promise to “return immediately to the front”; while in Vilnius large scale death and destruction plans are being made to prolong and radicalize the war against Russia and prepare as NATO for new wars around the world, if not a new apocalyptic world war; in Moscow Putin meets the commanders of the Wagner private military company, which, in terms of ideology and methods of action, is nothing other than the Russian Azov, and invites them to “start fighting again” …
The massacre of the “poor devils” of either side can continue. Indeed, it must continue, “until victory”!
