Questo è il testo del volantino della TIR che sarà distribuito nelle manifestazioni di Milano e di Napoli del 1° maggio.

Secondo Primo Maggio di guerra imperialista in Europa. Nulla da festeggiare, molto per cui lottare.

Il bilancio degli ultimi 12 mesi per la nostra classe sono decine di migliaia di proletari, ucraini e russi, massacrati tra loro, milioni di sfollati, enormi distruzioni, e per tutti i lavoratori d’Europa e gran parte del mondo salari taglieggiati dall’inflazione con la quale i capitalisti hanno gonfiato i profitti. La guerra per i padroni è un affare, finché i proletari si prestano a fare da carne da cannone e a lavorare per un salario svalutato.

In Francia i lavoratori sono scesi in piazza a milioni contro la riforma delle pensioni di Macron, e in altri paesi tra cui Gran Bretagna, Grecia, Germania ci sono forti segnali di risveglio con scioperi per il recupero del potere d’acquisto dei salari anche se in modo frammentario, categoria per categoria anziché con lotte generalizzate per un problema che è di tutti. Così chi è più debole resta indietro.

Dobbiamo purtroppo constatare che a fronte di questo fermento a difesa degli interessi immediati e di prospettiva (le pensioni), non c’è nessuna opposizione di massa alla partecipazione dei rispettivi governi alla guerra, e al riarmo in corso, come se non fosse affar nostro. La massa dei proletari è cieca di fronte a una guerra che segna l’inizio di scontri sempre più violenti tra le potenze capitaliste, non più solo nel commercio e finanza, ma militari fino a una possibile guerra mondiale, nei quali prima o poi verrà chiesto anche a loro di fare da carne di cannone. L’ascesa della Cina che minaccia il predominio USA non è la soluzione, ma l’acceleratore dello scontro. Manca l’unica forza che può porre fine alla guerra e alle guerre: l’unione internazionale dei lavoratori di tutti i paesi contro i governi del capitale che scatena le guerre.

I lavoratori italiani (a parte settori limitati, come la logistica e il trasporto ferroviario) spiccano per la loro passività anche sul terreno degli interessi immediati, passività ben coltivata da CGIL, CISL e UIL che fanno fronte comune coi padroni a chiedere riduzioni del “cuneo fiscale”, ma stanno bene attenti a non chiedere aumenti di salario a fronte degli aumenti dei prezzi incassati dai padroni. Il Primo Maggio, spudoratamente, il governo intende varare il “decreto lavoro” che oltre a togliere il “reddito di cittadinanza” rende più facile prorogare i contratti a tempo determinato dopo il primo anno: togliere ogni tutela ai lavoratori, soprattutto i giovani, per costringerli ad accettare di lavorare a qualsiasi condizione!

Auspichiamo che le manifestazioni del Primo Maggio a Milano e Napoli, indette da diversi sindacati di base, segnino l’inizio della ripresa del movimento operaio italiano, per la difesa degli interessi immediati e del welfare, contro la guerra e il governo Meloni, governo della guerra interna ai lavoratori ed esterna nel quadro NATO, verso uno sciopero generale che veda ampliarsi la partecipazione a tutti i settori, al di là delle sigle sindacali. E’ importante allo stesso tempo lavorare per formare un fronte comune di lavoratori di diversi paesi contro la guerra e i governi che la conducono, direttamente come Russia e Ucraina, indirettamente con l’invio di armi e le sanzioni come i paesi NATO tra cui l’Italia, contro l’oppressione di regimi come l’Iran e Israele: solo se in ciascun paese combatteremo il “nemico in casa nostra”, potremo costruire una unità internazionale dei proletari che diventi una forza reale contro la guerra, e per una società senza sfruttamento e oppressione. Senza illusione alcuna che vi possa essere un futuro di pace e benessere senza il rovesciamento del sistema capitalistico.

This is the text of the TIR flyer which will be distributed during the Milan and Naples demonstrations on May 1st.

Second May Day of imperialist war in Europe. Nothing to celebrate, much to fight for.

The toll of the last 12 months for our class is tens of thousands of proletarians, Ukrainians and Russians, massacred among themselves, millions of displaced people, enormous destruction, and for all the workers of Europe and much of the world wages cut by inflation with which the capitalists have inflated profits. War is business for the bosses, as long as the proletarians lend themselves to being cannon fodder and working for a devalued wage.

In France workers took to the streets by the millions against Macron's pension reform, and in other countries including Great Britain, Greece, Germany there are strong signs of awakening with strikes to recover the purchasing power of wages even if in a piecemeal way, category by category rather than with generalized struggles for a problem that belongs to everyone. So whoever is weaker stays behind.

Unfortunately, we have to note that in the face of this ferment in defense of immediate and prospective interests (pensions), there is no mass opposition to the participation of the respective governments in the war, and to the rearmament in progress, as if it were none of our business. The mass of the proletarians is blind to a war which marks the beginning of increasingly violent clashes between the capitalist powers, no longer only in trade and finance, but military up to a possible world war, in which sooner or later it will be asked for them too to be cannon fodder. The rise of China that threatens US dominance is not the solution, but the accelerator of the confrontation. The only force that can put an end to war and wars is missing: the international union of the workers of all countries against the governments of capital that unleashes wars.

Apart from limited sectors, such as logistics and railway transport, Italian workers stand out for their passivity even in the field of immediate interests, a passivity well cultivated by CGIL, CISL and UIL which are united in front with the bosses to ask for reductions in the fiscal weight, but they are very careful not to ask for wage increases in the face of price increases collected by the bosses. On May 1st, the government shamelessly intends to launch the "job decree" which, in addition to removing the "citizenship income", makes it easier to extend fixed-term contracts after the first year: removing all protection from workers, especially young people, to force them to agree to work under any conditions!

We hope that the May Day demonstrations in Milan and Naples, called by various grassroots unions, will mark the beginning of the recovery of the Italian workers' movement, for the defense of immediate interests and welfare, against the war and the Meloni government, the government of the war internal to the workers and external within the NATO framework, towards a general strike that will see the participation expand to all sectors, beyond the trade union acronyms. It is important at the same time to work towards forming a common front of workers from different countries against the war and the governments that wage it, directly like Russia and Ukraine, indirectly by arms shipments and sanctions like NATO countries including the Italy, against the oppression of regimes such as Iran and Israel: only if we fight the "enemy at home" in each country, will we be able to build an international unity of the proletarians which becomes a real force against war, and for a society without exploitation and oppression. Without any illusion that there can be a future of peace and prosperity without the overthrow of the capitalist system.
